An Evening of Festive Music and Community Spirit
Nynehead Court is delighted to announce that our annual Christmas Concert will take place on Friday 12th December 2025, from 6.30pm to 8pm at Nynehead Church. This much-loved festive event promises an evening filled with music, joy and togetherness, bringing residents, families, and the wider community together to celebrate the season.
This year’s concert will feature performances by the Intermediate Wellington Silver Band and the High Park Music Group Under 16s Orchestra, conducted by Hilary Wickham. Both groups have performed at Nynehead before and have become firm favourites with our residents and guests. Their enthusiasm, talent, and festive spirit always create a memorable evening that captures the heart of Christmas.
The programme will include a wonderful selection of seasonal music, from well-loved carols and traditional favourites to lively orchestral pieces that fill the church with warmth and energy. The concert will open with the bright, polished sound of the Wellington Silver Band, who never fail to lift spirits with their precision and harmony. Their performance blends classic carols with upbeat arrangements, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
The second part of the evening will feature the talented young musicians of the High Park Music Group. This under-16s orchestra is made up of local students who have worked hard throughout the year to prepare for their performance. Under Hilary Wickham’s guidance, they will perform a varied and engaging programme that showcases their skill and passion for music. Seeing the next generation of musicians performing live is always inspiring, and their contribution brings a joyful energy to the concert.
The evening will take place in the beautiful setting of Nynehead Church, just a short walk from Nynehead Court. The church’s warm acoustics and traditional charm make it a perfect venue for live music, especially during the festive season. Guests can expect an atmosphere of light and warmth, with the glow of candles and the sound of brass and strings filling the space.
