Live-In Carer Vacancy at Nynehead Court
We are inviting applications for a live-in carer to join the team at Nynehead Court, a respected and long-established care home set in 13 acres of parkland near Wellington, Somerset. This opportunity is ideal for someone who has previous care experience and is ready to bring warmth, professionalism and a calm, caring presence to residents across both our main house and the neighbouring Mews bungalows.
Accommodation is provided on-site, along with all meals. This role includes living at the home and being part of daily life for our residents. The environment here is peaceful, welcoming and supportive, and the care we offer is always tailored to each individual.
What the Role Involves
As a live-in carer, you will provide practical support, personal care, and companionship to residents. Your responsibilities will include helping with daily routines, offering assistance with mobility and personal care, ensuring the living environment is clean and comfortable, and supporting with medication. Full training can be given to support specific duties, including medication administration if not previously undertaken.
You will also be expected to be available during the night to respond to any emergency or support needs that may arise. You will not be required to cook meals, as these are provided by our kitchen team. All we ask is that you communicate your preferences, and we will ensure meals are prepared accordingly.
Your presence will be reassuring to residents and their families alike. You will be someone who takes the time to get to know the people you support, building trust and understanding through steady, reliable care.
Supportive Shift Patterns
Your working pattern will be discussed and agreed at interview. We aim to establish a manageable and fair shift routine that supports both the home and your personal wellbeing. The role will include time in both the main house and in the Mews bungalows, with full support from our management and care team at every step.
What You Bring
You will already have experience in a care setting and a genuine interest in supporting older people. You will be a good communicator, discreet, kind, and dependable. The right person for this role understands that care is personal. It takes time, patience, and consistency, and makes a meaningful difference to someone’s life.
