We’re often told by visitors and families that what makes life at Nynehead so special is the balance we create, between excitement and calm, independence and support, companionship and personal space. With that in mind, here’s a glimpse into the coming fortnight, a true reflection of the spirit of later living at Nynehead Court.
Thursday 3rd April
We start with fresh air and coastal views on a seaside trip, departing at 10.20am for lunch by the water before returning at 2.30pm. These days out are always popular, offering the chance to enjoy familiar sights and memories, or simply feel the sea breeze and indulge in a good lunch with friends.
Friday 4th April
The day begins with a Mews trip, where our residents living independently in Nynehead Mews enjoy their own outing tailored to their preferences. In the afternoon, it’s time to get active indoors with curling in the Drawing Room at 2.15pm, a friendly game that combines skill and laughter, and always draws a crowd of both players and spectators.
Saturday 5th April
A relaxed start to the weekend with our Coffee Morning & Chat at 10.45am in the Drawing Room. This is one of those special times for catching up, swapping stories, or simply enjoying company. For those preferring something quieter, room visits provide time for one-to-one conversation and connection.
Sunday 6th April
Our Sunday morning begins with French Boules on Mulberry Wing’s patio, offering a gentle outdoor activity to enjoy the spring air. Alternatively, residents can enjoy one-to-one time, a meaningful part of our weekend rhythm where we focus on conversation, reading, or shared quiet moments.
Monday 7th April
We welcome our trusted hairdresser from 9am, helping everyone feel their best with a fresh trim or a little pampering. In the afternoon, Film Club in the Drawing Room brings residents together to enjoy a classic film, and happy conversation afterwards.
Tuesday 8th April
The morning brings Table Top Games in Mulberry Wing, where favourites such as dominoes, cards and board games provide fun and social interaction. In the afternoon, we head outdoors for garden walks, taking in the blossom, birdsong, and beautiful spring colour across our 14 acres of gardens.
Wednesday 9th April
At 10.30am, we hold our RWG Fellowship Service in the Drawing Room, open to all faiths and beliefs, it’s a moment of peace and reflection that so many find uplifting. Then in the afternoon, we head out again for a trip from the Main House at 2pm, the destination chosen based on residents’ requests.
Thursday 10th April
A small morning trip for residents heads out at 10.20am, offering a tailored outing that balances comfort and discovery. At 2.15pm, we welcome James Butcher, a new singer to Nynehead Court, performing live in the Drawing Room. Music brings us all together, and it’s always a joy to hear new voices.
Friday 11th April
Another trip at 10am sets the day in motion, before our popular afternoon bingo session at 2.15pm in the Drawing Room. It’s always a lively affair, complete with light-hearted competition and plenty of smiles.
Saturday 12th April
We start with flower arranging at 10.45am in Mulberry Wing, an activity that’s both calming and creative, as residents craft beautiful seasonal displays. Our team also spends time with residents who prefer one-to-one interaction, focusing on personal time that matters.
Sunday 13th April
We round off the fortnight with a Palm Sunday Service at Nynehead Church, starting at 11am. Attending this special local service is something many residents treasure, connecting with tradition and the wider community in a setting of peace and reflection.
